IS111 Midterm Internet Activity

1. As a student, how did information technology and computer devices affect your daily activities?

- I can say as a student, information technology and computer devices really improved our lives. It really   leads us to a easier and comfortable life. For a student like me, it really helps me a lot when it comes to assignments, projects and reportings. It really affects my daily activities because not like before I used to hangout with my friends outside and go anywhere but today it's not like that anymore. I'm always at my room, visiting social networking sites. When it comes to household chores, it is lot more easier because there are devices that could do it easily. And nowadays, Communication has been made easier for example the internet has brought email and chatting facilities. Instead of sending letters to respective destinations, it is very easy to send an email which will be received instantly.

2. What are computing devices that are specifically designed for your field of study? Write a brief description. Give at least 3.

- The devices that are specifically designed for my field of study is Laptop, Cellphone and Flash Drive.
Information System requires laptop because this field is more on codes and programming. There should be a laptop where the student can do the codes and the programs and other things that they need to do which is related to their field.
Cellphone is really not that necessary in Information System, but it helps the student to maintain there communication to their teachers and classmates.
And lastly, Flash Drives, for me as a student of Information System, flash drive is really important because in there we save all our files, all the files that I made in my laptop, all the important files that I need in my field.

3. Which would you rather have—a netbook or a tablet computer? Why? 

- For me, I'd rather have a netbook. Why? It is simply because netbook is more useful than tablet computer. Netbook is affordable and useful long term not like tablet computer it has a no glass to shatter and so expensive, in just one fall in the ground say goodbye to your tablet computer. Netbook is also more efficient when it comes to power comsumption that can let them to run for much longer than a tablet computer. It is also helpful to those people that is having a long flight or traveling for business or even holidays. It helps them to maintain their eye in their business. Though it is heavy but it is more useful than tablet computer.  

4. If cost were not an issue, describe the characteristics of your ideal computer. What would you use it for?

- If cost were not an issue, maybe I just want a computer that is fast reaction, no more logs or hangs and has a internet already.
I would use it for school matters, and other things that I wanted to use it. Because as a teenager, nowadays, teens are fond of using their leisure time in surfing in net. Visiting social networking sites. It becomes there hobby. Teens don't want a delay if only we could bring internet anywhere we would. Without internet computer is boring. 



5. Why do you think that a computer course (subject) is required in every programs (courses) in higher education (college)?

- I don't really have the clue why computer course is required in every programs in higher education, maybe it's just that technology has really a big impact in our society nowadays. Technology is everywhere. There's a need to study how we can use technology that surrounds us because technology really affects our daily lives. Technology become important to us because it helps us to do things lot easier.

6. Have you encountered a difficulty in using computers? Write your experience. What intervention you did to solve that problem?

- I really can't remember if I'd encountered a difficulty in using computers because I'm not really fond of using computers, i am more on cellphones or tablet. So I can't write any experience that I've encountered.
